Correct Method to Control Rice Stem Borer

Rice stem borer is one of the most damaging pests of rice. It enters the stem and feeds inside.

Symptoms:

- Young tillers dry up (dead heart)

- White heads appear on the crop

- Powdery frass accumulates at the base

Prevention:

- Set up light traps in the field

- Remove and destroy infected plants

- Apply registered insecticides such as Nano Shakti

When to spray:

- Spraying at egg hatching time within 30-45 days after transplanting is most effective
